Akeredolu bids Brigadier General Ofoche farewell at Security Council Meeting

The Commander, 32 Artillery Brigade, Akure, Brigadier General Charles Ofoche has been redeployed to Abuja.


Announcing this to newsmen at the end of Ondo State Security Council Meeting held at the Governor's office in Akure, Council Chairman who is also the Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, said he received the redeployment with mixed feelings.


He described the Brigade Commander as a dutiful officer whose strategies to security matters were goal-getting. 


While praying for Brigadier Ofoche for a successful carrier in the military, Governor Akeredolu said Ondo State would greatly miss his contributions and services.


"Brigadier General Ofoche is an amiable officer, fine in character and look, we will miss him", Governor Akeredolu declared.


The Ondo State Deputy Governor , Hon Agboola Ajayi who led comments in torrents from other council members said the outgoing Brigade Commander served in Ondo state with rare candour and reference to democratic institution. 


"To me the Brigadier General is a civilian in military uniform" , the Deputy Governor said.


 In his comment, the Secretary to State Government, Hon. Ifedayo Abegunde, said Ondo State people will no doubt miss the Brigade Commander's friendliness and firmness. He prayed that his redeployment will be for greater heights.


The Chief of Staff to the Governor, Chief Olugbenga Ale who described Brigadier General Ofoche as a well grounded officer in military and civilian relationship said his services to the state were greatly beneficial and rewarding.


The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Security, Alhaji Jimoh Dojumo said the outgoing Brigadier General displayed rare commitment to duties and as such Ondo State would miss him greatly.


Heads of Army, Navy, Customs, Prisons, Immigration, NDLEA, Road Safety, State Security Service and the Police took turn to pour encomiums on the outgoing Military  Officer .


In her comment  the State Commissioner of Police, Ondo State Command, Mrs Hilda Harrison-Ibifuro described Brigadier General Charles Ofoche as a thoroughbred officer who demonstrated to all security agencies in the state that "working together brings better results".


In his response , Brigadier General Charles Ofoche thanked Council Members for their kind words.

 

 He noted that Ondo State brought lots of blessings to him in each of the three occasions he worked in the state.


A toast to his honour proposed by the governor was later performed by council members.
