Veteran sports broadcaster, Ayo Ogedengbe, has hailed the appointment of Austin Eguavoen as the new coach of Sunshine Stars, saying it is the best thing to happen to the club.
He made this known while speaking exclusively with SUNSHINE HERALD.
"It is the best thing to happen to the club, especially at this time when they are dwindling.
"I see him as a worthy coach for the club," Ogedengbe stated.
Austin Eguavoen a former Super Eagles coach was appointed alongside Ike Shorunmu as the club's Technical Adviser and Goalkeeper trainer respectively.
The coaches who signed at a short term contract till the end of the season with an option of extension must ensure the club is not relegated.
According to the club's Media Manager, Wahab Bankole, "The terms of the contract are that he must make sure Sunshine are not relegated and also ensure that we have a decent outing in the Federation Cup.
"We decided to appoint Eguavoen because we believe he has the experience. He has coached in the Nigerian league before and we believe he has what it takes to deliver for us."
Sunshine Stars currently sit 17th on the NPFL table with 31 points from 18 matches.
