Solanke gets accolades from Akeredolu as she turns 85

Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin  Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, says the first woman to be conferred with the prestigious title of Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Chief Folake Solanke, SAN,is a pride to the legal practice in the country.

Speaking at the 85th Birthday Anniversary of Chief Folake Solanke, SAN in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, Arakunrin Akeredolu said the legal giant had invested in young people most of whom are now accomplished lawyers .

Governor Akeredolu who called Chief Folake Solanke, SAN,, his Professional Mother described her   an elegant legal luminary with admirable styles that have helped to shape the career of many lawyers and judges.

The highpoint of the event was the presentation of two books which the reviewers of each of the books called " a must read, a must have" not only for lawyers but for researches and students.The first of the books an updated edition of  "Reaching for the Stars: The Autobiography of Folake Solanke"  and the second  " "Selected Essays and Papers on Law and Societal Issues"

The governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosu ; representative of Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi;  the Alake  of Egba, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo; representative of Olubadan of Ibadan with several personalities from  the bar and bench in Nigeria gathered to honour one of the brightest in the Nigerian bar.

Chief Folake Solanke,SAN, holders of National Honours of OON and CON had maintained mentoring relationship with the Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, for more than three decades.

Recently during  the inauguration ceremony of Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu,SAN, as Governor of Ondo State, Chief Solanke said the realisation of the governorship ambition was "a personal joy and fulfilment to her"
