The training was organized to help the legislators improve their use of social media for effective communication on issues relating to Public Policy and Good Governance.
Also, out of the 500 Senators' aides, only 25 showed up for the training, according to Daily Trust.
News of the training had been conveyed to the legislators via a letter written by SenatorIsa Galaudu, the Chief of Staff to Senate President, Bukola Saraki.
The letter read:
"Senators and their aides receive training on use of Facebook in line with the promise of the President of the Senate to ensure more representative legislature using e-parliamentary tools."
"This is a partnership between the Office of the Senate President and Facebook."
"Senators and aides who wish to participate in the programme should please email grsenatesocial@gmail.com with their full names."
The training was conducted by a team from Facebook, which was led by the African Head of Public Policy, Ebele Okobi.
