The executive committee members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the Central and Western senatorial districts of Kogi State have tasked the National Secretariat of the party to jealously guard the victory so far recorded by the Audu/Faleke ticket in the governorship election in the state.
In a communique signed by the state deputy Chairman of the APC, Hon. Shuaibu Osune and 19 others, the party leaders held that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) erred by declaring the November 21 governorship election inconclusive.
According to the state executives, the APC National Secretariat should use legal means to compel INEC to declare APC as winner of the election without further delay.
They also resolved to support Hon James Abiodun Faleke to step in as substitute for the late candidate, Prince Abubakar Audu while his son Muhammed Abubakar Audu should be made the running mate
"The national executive council of our party should for the sake of peaceful co existence and unity of our beloved state take this resolution with the seriousness it deserve" the party leaders stated.
