Relief has finally come the way of former Rivers State Governor, Senator Rotimi Ameachi as his name Thursday appeared on the order paper as one of those to be screened as Ministers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Ameachi is to be screened alongside 6 ministerial nominees, alongside five others. They are former Speaker, Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Heineken Lopkobiri; Claudius Omoyele Daramola (Ondo), Vice Chancellor, University of Ibadan, Prof. Isaac Adewole, Baba Shehun Mustapha and aspirant at the All Progressives Congress (APC) guber primaries in Kogi State, Ocholi Enojo James.
Amaechi is currently being screened by the Senate.The screening of ministerial nominees resumed on Thursday, with the screening of six nominees including former River State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi and ex-Vice Chancellor of University of Ibadan, Prof. Isaac Adewole.
20 ministerial nominees have been screened since the exercise started two weeks ago.

Meanwhile, members of the Peoples Democratic Party in the upper chamber still remain adamant as of the time of filing this report, to oppose the clearance of the erstwhile Rivers governor, for screening.
The tension generated by the development, however, forced the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, to order a closed session shortly after resumption of plenary around 10:58 am.
