The Super Eagles of Nigeria were held to a 1-1 draw by the Bafana Bafana of South in an international friendly played at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit.
After their last week defeat to the Cranesof Uganda, the Super Eagles started on the backfoot, defending deep and waiting to catch their host on the break.
Nigeria had the first chance at goal in the 2nd minute with a freekick but Aaron Samuelshot straight at the Bafana Bafana goalkeeper, Itmalangho Khune.
Coach Daniel Amokachi made three half time substitutes and one soon after the kick off of the second half.
Super Eagles captain of the day, Ahmed Musa had a freekick looped over the bar.
South Africa had the chance to take lead after they were award a penalty in the 61st minute;Godfrey Oboabona who had come in for an injured Kenneth Omeruo in the first half brought down a South African player.
Super Eagles goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi who was called in to replace injured Vincent Enyeama however saved the penalty.
Ahmed Musa gave Nigeria the lead against the run of play with just minutes left on the clock.
The speedy winger received a pass fromOdion Ighalo which he controls calmly before curling his effort into the far right.
There was time however for the South Africans to score a late equaliser, as Bongani Zungu capitalised on the sloppy defending to sweeping home a rebound.
Nigeria however continues their unbeaten run against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa.
