Speaking at a Press Brief in Akure, Ondo state on Thursday, 19th of March 2015, The Vice President (National Affairs), Ayenuro Timileyin Gbenga said, "With the recent activities of the Governor, he has been able to strengthen the believe of the YORUBAs of a new dawn and new era. No Governor or leader who hails from Yoruba since the advent of Political system in Nigeria has ever been able to bring the large gathering of Yoruba leaders under one canopy to discuss extensively on the progress and development of the YORUBA NATION."
He said "Dr. Mimiko has been someone who we admired and cherished, he has been able re-sensitized the elderstatesmen, labour force, religious groups, artisans, market women, civil servants, teachers, private investors, pressure groups, youths and the teeming students' populace on the importance of YORUBA nation to massively support President Goodluck Jonathan for his re-election bid"
While speaking further. "We see all these actions has a progressive step in reviving and restoring the Yoruba race. It has been established from the outcomes and results of Governor Mimiko several engagements and interactions, that come 28th day of March, 2015 Nigerians' votes will count for Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan."
National Association of Nigerian Students [NANS] also appreciated several development-oriented projects, policies and programmes that Dr. Olusegun Mimiko has embarked upon in the state. No wonder he is popularly addressed as a caring heart Governor from the nooks and crannies of the country.
It is on this note that NANS, a conglomerate of active, young and vibrant students in the country hereby passes another VOTE OF CONFIDENCE on the Ondo state Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, CON ,based on his giant strides in restoring the lost glories of Yoruba race, landmark achievements and tremendous progress he has been recording in the state.
