As the campaign train of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential candidate, President Goodluck Jonathan hit Akure, the Ondo State capital on Wednesday, thousands of the party stalwarts, NWC members,  guests and supporters who will be in the town for the campaign might face serious accommodation problem as  operators of relaxation centres and hotels in the state had vowed to shut it doors against the visitors.

The hoteliers said they are taken the action to press home their demands and cry out to the state Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko to pay up the over N100 million unpaid accommodation bills owed several hotels and resorts across the state by government ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs).

They said hotel owners and operators in the state have been warned to reject any guest from the state government henceforth, if such request is not back with cash payment, stressing that embargo has been placed on further credit facility to state MDAs on accommodation and other services rendered by members in the state.

The cumulative sum was the amount the state MDAs owed some hotels and resorts patronised by the state government for about a year without any sign of payment by the concern MDAs.

An operator of a 3-star hotel in Akure, the state capital who did not want either his or hotel names to be mentioned said it became necessary for the hoteliers to cry out to the governor at this point in time over the unpaid bills before they are run aground.

"Hospitality business and indeed, private business in this state can't survive without government patronages since the state is mainly a civil service driven economy; that is why our major customers and patronages come from MDAs and government workers themselves."

"So, you can imagine our plights at this period when government workers are not paid salaries which it negative effect on our businesses are low patronages and zero profit on sales," he stated.

However, the state deputy coordinator of Jonathan/Sambo Campaign organisation, Dr. Kingsley Kuku said all arrangements are been put in place for a smooth and successful Presidential of PDP candidate in the State.

"President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan will be on the podium at the Democracy Park in Akure on Wednesday, mainly to say thank you to the entire citizens of the Sunshine State and to promise them more dividends of democracy as they join other. Nigerians to re-elect in come February 14, 2015.

"There is no doubt that the people of Ondo state has resolved to do it once again as they did in 2011 Election where they came out massively and voted for Mr. President: and this time around, they're already promised to give him one million votes," Kuku stated.

The hotelier, however appealed to governor Mimiko to direct all concern state MDAs to commence payment of debt owing government patronised hotels to escape being embarrassed during the President's visit and campaign in the state.
