World football governing body, FIFA initially gave a Monday, October 27th deadline by which, if Chris Giwa, Amaju Pinnick, and every other aggrieved party do not let the administration of Nigerian football flow like the game should; the country would be not suspended but banned
A ban from FIFA now definitely would have a great ripple effect on the local and international players and the country's international image. What's worse is that it will not be revisited, once decided until the next FIFA General Congress on May 15, 2015
"The future of millions of Nigerian youth is being put at risk by some persons who feel they have nothing to lose in the case of a FIFA ban. It is now for the Government to wade in. If we get suspended from international football now, FIFA will not revisit the matter until their 65Congress on May 29, 2015. That would be too bad for our country's football," CAF member and former NFF technical committee member, Aisha Falode disclosed
FIFA is aggrieved, CAF is tired, the world is fed up with at the shambolic state Nigerian football has found itself; albeit, the ineptitude of the so called stakeholders
Eyes are raised, Tongues are clipped even as the Nigerian government through the Sports minister, Tammy Danagogo, ordered Chris Giwa to withdraw the suit against the sitting NFF president Amaju Pinnick, in earnest that the country beat the new October 31st hit it miss it date set by Zurich
Reiterating the need for resolution in the presidency, Danagogo told newsmen in a chat on Tuesday that he is not interested in who the boss is at the NFF, all that matters to him is that football is run properly without recurring crisis
What woe betides the one person who causes Nigeria's ban from international football, Danagogo reveals: ''The Federal Government will not take kindly to any individual or group that contribute to an unfortunate situation of Nigeria getting banned from international football.''
With all said and done the clock ticks closer to October 31st; this day will make or mar Nigerian football for the better.
