Gov. Babangida Aliyu of Niger State on Friday inaugurated Paiko Juma'at Mosque constructed at the cost of N121 million.
Inaugurating the mosque, Aliyu urged Muslim faithful in the state to live in peace with their neighbours irrespective of religious inclination.
The governor reiterated his administration's support for both Muslim and Christian faithful in the state toward fostering peaceful coexistence.
He urged the people of the state to support the government's policy of entrenching peace so as to fast-track development in the state.
In his remarks, the former Ambassador of Nigeria to Poland and Chairman of the Mosque Building Committee, Alhaji Zubairu Dada, said that the mosque was constructed at the cost of N121 million.
"This mosque has modern facilities such as ablution space, toilets and a 40 KVA generator.
"The 6, 026 capacity mosque will accommodate 1,676 male and 350 female, while the exterior will accommodate 4, 000 persons.''
Dada said that the mosque was built through donations from individuals, the local and state governments
