Dr Bakitta Bello, the Chairman of Ondo State Teaching Service Commission(TESCOM)on Tuesday urged the school administrators in the state to look inward for skill acquisition.
Bello stated this at a school monitoring to Baptist High School, Ile- Oluji in Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government Area.
"The improvements of our teachers' skill will be hanlded by TESCOM as stakeholders' level.
"We will encourage the Parents' Teachers' Associations (PTA) and various schools themselves to find means and ways in improving staff skill both teaching and non-teaching.
"Whatever we can do at TESCOM and Education Ministry leveks will be done despite some competing factors and forces for financing.
"In addition to various government efforts, school administrators should also look inward and have internal training mechanism like in-house seminars, a teacher can teach others and a tutor can teach the youngers ones," he said.
The chairman therefore commended the input of the state government and the readiness of teachers towards attainment of quality education in the state.
" I want to appreciate the inputs of Gov. Olusegun Mimiko into secondary education in the state and readiness of our teachers and non-teaching staff directed to work.
"In addition to prompt payment of salaries and provision of other learning materials, I know that these staff need to be motivated, equipped and strengthened more.
"With these, I believe that the level of the student performance will improve drastically," he said.
