Following the recent landslide that occurred in Okitipupa, the
headquarters of Okitipupa Council Area of Ondo State, the state
governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, on Tuesday, inspected the level of the
landslide with a promise of immediate government's intervention to
make transportation easy in the area.

Governor Mimiko, who was accompanied on the visit by the state
Commissioner for Works, Mr Gboye Adegbenro, chairman, Ondo State Oil
Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC), Pastor Johnson
Ogunyemi and chairman, Ondo State Asphalt Company (OSAC), Mr Kehinde
Oshikoya among others, described the landslide as a major ecological
problem on the major road that linked Okitipupa and Igbokoda.

Dr Mimiko assured that engineers were already at the site carrying
out the necessary survey work of the landslide, stressing that
government would not allow the situation to degenerate into
uncontrollable level.

He noted that his administration accorded priority to safety of life
and property, adding that people should steer clear of the area
pending its repair in their best interest
