Officials of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps,NSCDC, in
Ondo State, today said the Command had made a seizure of twenty
illegal tankers loaded with fuel from January to date.
Aside the seizure of the tankers , the command had also intercepted
about 15 vehicles loaded with over 800 gallons of adulterated fuel.
Addressing reporters in Akure, the state capital, the State Commandant
of the corps, Abdul Waheed Popoola said that 90% of the seizures were
made in the Southern Senatorial district of the state.
The NSCDC boss added that no fewer than nine persons were arrested in
connection with scooping of fuel from the NNPC pipelines.
Popoola stressed further that the Command was working with security
agencies in the state to rid the state of pipeline vandals
