Inclusive growth: Every sector will thrive under my tenure – Gov Aiyedatiwa

Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has emphasised that all economy sectors will be touched under his administration, as all sectors are important.

The Governor made this emphasis during his inauguration beach rendezvous held at Araromi Seaside, in Ilaje Local Government area of the State.



Addressing the newsmen at the world press conference themed "Unlocking Investment Opportunities Around the Sea", Governor Aiyedatiwa reiterated his commitment to the development of the Araromi Sea-Side Kingdom, stating that his government will harness the area's potential for economic growth and tourism.




"The strategic location of this area, just 45 minutes from Lagos, will become even more accessible with the ongoing development of the coastal highway. This project will enhance connectivity and boost tourism," Aiyedatiwa stated.


He disclosed that La Campagne Tropicana was already in talks with Araromi Beach for potential investments, noting that such partnerships would materialise soon.

He added that the provision of boats would ease access to the area, creating job opportunities and stimulating economic activities.

"The road leading to the beach is being developed by the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC), further demonstrating our government's commitment to unlocking the state's tourism potential," he said.

Aiyedatiwa assured that Ondo State remains open for business, urging both local and international investors to explore opportunities in Araromi and other parts of the state.




Speaking on infrastructure, he noted that every government that comes into power will build new roads and maintain the old ones, stressing that old projects will not be abandoned, while there would be new ones. "I will build more roads and maintain the old ones", he noted.

He opined that his administration will be deliberate about agriculture, as it is on a steady growth in Ondo State. "We will clear lands for our people, support them with equipment, provide security for our farmers". He encouraged the youths to embrace farming.

On teachers' recruitment, he stated that the process has started and would be completed soon and letter will be out. He added that to make life suitable for them, they will have access to Primary Health Care anywhere they showed their intention to serve.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Chairman, Ilaje Local Government, Hon. Maurice Oripenaye commended Governor Aiyedatiwa for his visionary leadership and unwavering support for the Araromi seaside project.

He also commended the Governor for his efforts to transform Ondo state into a hub of tourism, attracting foreign and direct investment and investors, that engenders progress and prosperity.

He noted that the Araromi Seaside possesses the raw ingredients for a trivial tourism industry that is capable of attracting both foreign investors and local investors.

"This Araromi Seaside can be developed into an eco-tourism venture that will showcase our unique biodiversity, cultural tools that celebrate our embedded natural resources. Also, on oil and gas, Ilaje Local Government is blessed with abundant oil reserves, we are also richly blessed with oil with enormous potentials for economic growth and development.

"Ilaje Local Government is working with a diverse range of marine life, offering immense potential for a sustainable, prosperous fishing business industry that is capable of attracting billions of dollars worth of revenue, not only to the people of Ilaje Local Government, but also to the state government.

"By supporting our local fishermen, investing in modern fishing technology, and establishing effective fishing management practices, we can ensure the long-term viability of our fishing resources. We can also develop fishing processes and aquaculture industries, creating value-added products and expanding our market, which in turn brings more revenue to those states and development to the people of Ilaje Local Government".

"I assure you all that we, as a team are fully committed to the successful executions of this project. We will work tirelessly with Mr. Governor to ensure that these projects are flagged off, completed, and delivered in time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

He called on stakeholders, government agencies, community leaders, and residents to join hands with Governor Aiyedatiwa in making the project a complete success.

"As we assess this project today, let us remember that this assessment is not just about transfer, it is about building a better future for ourselves and generations to come. Let us embrace this opportunity with great enthusiasm, determination, and shared visions for a brighter tomorrow".

In his goodwill message, the Alara of Araromi Seaside, Oba Olawole Adeoloye noted that the visit of the Governor showcased his goodwill, appreciating his efforts in projecting Araromi Seaside to limelight.

"We appreciate your administration's goodwill despite economic challenges. The award of the Araromi Sea-Side to Beach Road and the Araromi Sea-Side Old Beach Road to Holy Centre projects shows your commitment to our community."

He described Araromi as an untapped economic hub, calling for more investments in its development.

In his address, the State Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Prince Leke Adegbite, noted that history will not forget the Governor for his efforts in developing the State, assuring him of the journalists' support at all times.

In attendance were; The Deputy Governor, Dr Olayide Adelami, members of the Ondo State House of Assembly led by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji, Chief of Staff, Prince Segun Omojuwa, Member representing Ondo East/West federal constituency, Hon. Abiola Makinde, Immediate past members of the State Executive Council, Local Government chairmen, Traditional Rulers, among others.
