Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has reiterated his determination and commitment towards the socioeconomic development of the State.

Speaking at the Inauguration thanksgiving held at Redeemed Christian Church of God, Jesus House, Akure, on Sunday, the Governor appreciated God for the opportunity given to him to serve the State and its people.

"We are beginning this journey together, a journey of hope, transformation and collective prosperity, guided by the principles of justice, equity and compassion.

"We are not oblivious of the enormous responsibility before us in repaying the trust the people reposed in us which was visibly manifested by the overwhelming victory delivered for my humble self and my Deputy through our party in the last Gubernatorial Election in November last year and in the recently held Local Government Elections.

"As we prepare to take the oath of office tomorrow, we pledge to you, the good people of Ondo State, that we shall dedicate ourselves tirelessly to the pursuit of our collective dreams. We shall work diligently to create opportunities, to foster growth, and to ensure that our State remains a beacon of hope and prosperity. We shall strive to be listening leaders who empathise and who serve with integrity, transparency and accountability.

"We shall remain focused on our goals and aspirations as we pursue our Seven-Point developmental agenda as encapsulated in 'OUR EASE' for the good people of Ondo State.

"As we move forward, we shall prioritise the welfare and well-being of our citizens, particularly the most vulnerable among us. We shall continue to invest in education, healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure, commerce and industry, recognising that these are the building blocks of a prosperous and equitable society. We shall foster a culture of innovation, entrepreneurship and creativity, knowing that these are the engines that drive growth and development.

"We shall work closely with our security agencies, our traditional rulers and our community leaders to ensure that our State remains a haven of peace and tranquility. We shall ensure that our State continues to maintain its enviable status as one of the safest and most peaceful states in Nigeria.

Governor Aiyedatiwa appreciated the clergy in the assembly, acknowledging their vital roles the church plays in the State's development, providing spiritual guidance.

Earlier in his homily titled "Appreciating the favour of God" the Regional Pastor, Pastor Elijah Ajibade noted that whoever receives God's favour, it is necessary for the person to appreciate God.

"Favour is not what you earn or deserve but you're given, it is a gift. Everyone on earth has received God's favour in one way or another.

"Receiving the favour of God is His choice, not the choice of man. God chose you to be favoured.

"Appreciating God's favour helps you to remind yourself that you don't have the right to write anybody off or look down on anyone. God doesn't not permit anyone to share His glory With him.

"You can appreciate God for His favour by giving yourself to Him, humble yourself before Him, Glorify Him with dignified and uncommon praise, make your boast alone in the Lord and not yourself or anyone, express your trust in the arm of God that saved you, use your favoured position to serve God and humanity", he concluded.

The only lesson was read by the wife of the regional pastor, Mrs Ayobami Ajibade from the book of Psalm 113:1-9.

In attendance were; Ondo State first lady, Mrs Oluwaseun Aiyedatiwa, The Deputy Governor, Dr Olayide Adelami, members of the Ondo State House of Assembly led by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji, State Chairman of APC, Engr Ade Adetimehin, Chief of Staff, Prince Segun Omojuwa, Head of Service, Mr Bayo Philip, Chief Judge of Ondo State, Justice Olusegun Odusola, Members House of Representatives, Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Dr Olukayode Ajulo, immediate past members of the State Executive Council, Traditional Rulers.
