Multiple award winner, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, the Chief Press Secretary to Ondo State Governor, Engr. Johnson Alabi, Special Adviser to Mr Governor on Energy, Mr. Bolu-Olu Esho, a veteran journalist, Dr. Mrs. Omobolanle Ojoge, principal, Fiwasaye Girls Grammar School among others on Sunday, 7th July, 2024 bagged Southwest Herald Magazine awards of excellence for their contributions to humanity.

The honour according to the publisher of the magazine, Mr. Tayo Adu is for the exceptional few who have contributed tremendously to the development of Ondo State.

While also extending congratulations to all the awardees, the publisher admonished them to continue to do more.



Giving his remarks at the grand event, the chairman of the occasion, Dr. (Barr.) Olumuyiwa Adu extended congratulations to all the awardees.

He also commended the media outfit for being the voice to the voiceless and the bridge between the government and the governed.

Particularly, he underscored the need for restructuring as a panacea to attaining good governance in the country at large.

The event also featured a guest lecture by Dr. Olugbenga Abimbola, Head of Department, Mass Communication, Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko on "Ondo 2024: Preparation & Priorities for Electoral Integrity & Inclusion".

Dr. Abimbola while exploring the topic took time to address all stakeholders just as he spoke extensively on the need for the electoral processes to pass integrity test and be all inclusive among others.

The climax of the event however is the official unveiling of the special edition of the magazine as well as the presentation of awards to recipients.



Responding to the honour, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan appreciated the gesture most especially as it came directly from his constituency.

He also used the opportunity to assure media men in the state of government's support.

Also responding , Engr. Johnson Alabi noted particularly that the award will spur him to do more.
