Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo state has appealed to Nigerians and people of the state to exercise more patient with the administration of President Bola Tinubu, saying there will be positive outcomes in the future.
Aiyedatiwa who stated this on Monday in Akure, Ondo state capital, while meeting some All Progressives stakeholders, said Tinuni has beautiful plans to improve the living conditions of the people.
He expressed confidence in the ability to turn around the nation's fortune but sought the understanding of Nigerians, saying Rome was not built in day.
The Ondo governor who appealed to the sponsors of the nationwide protest to seek a more peaceful option and approach that will promote development, national peace and political stability.
He however, identified the steps taken by the organisers as part of the right of the citizenry to drive home their demands but called on them to be conscious of the potential risks it portends for the country.
The governor said "It is still within their right to protest but I want to appeal to Nigerians, especially the youths to give peace a chance. They should give the President time to concentrate in turning around the fortune of the country.
"Development thrives in a peaceful environment, let us all be united and collectively tackle the prevailing economic hardship confronting the nation.
"We should all avoid a protest tht could lead to destruction of lives and property as this might worsen our economic situation. The EndSARS protest that was hijacked by hoodlums is still fresh in our memories.
"Hoodlums can hijacked a peaceful protest and turn it to bloody one, the consequences of this will add salt to injury as hoodlums might take the advantage to destroy public assets.
"I want to appeal to Ondo state youths not to participate in the protest because governments at all levels are working hard to implement policies that would give lasting solutions to the hardship in the country.
"The government has been engaging with the stakeholders and government officials to ensure that the issue is resolved.
"The President has been meeting with all key stakeholders and here in Ondo state, we have also been meeting with stakeholders to make life comfortable for the people of our dear state.

Urges youths to embrace dialogue, shun protest
Ahead of the planned nationwide protest, the Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, on Monday met with stakeholders, including students and youths, assuring them that ongoing reforms by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will lead to economic recovery of the country.
Addressing the representatives of youth groups from the three senatorial districts of the State, in Akure, the Governor assured the youths that their welfare remains a priority, promising greater inclusion in his administration.
Governor Aiyedatiwa urged Nigerians to be more patient with government, stressing that all indications point in the direction of improved economy that will alleviate the challenges of the people.

The Governor had earlier met with the newly appointed transition committee chairmen in the 18 Local Government Areas and 33 Local Council Development Areas (LCDA) and Heads of Local Government Administration (HOLGA).
The Governor emphasized the importance of engaging with local communities, particularly youths, traditional institutions, and opinion leaders.
"Do not underestimate anyone; stay vigilant, engage with the community, and convey to our people that protests are unnecessary, dialogue is the best approach", Governor Aiyedatiwa urged.
The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Amidu Takuro, and the Senior Special Assistant on Community Engagement (Central), Mr. Femi Fadairo, echoed the Governor's commitment to youth welfare.
Youth leaders, including Mr. Tuyi Adekambi, Mr. Fowope Adesina, and Mr. Ibrahim Oladotun, pledged to advocate against violent protests in the State and support the Governor's efforts.
