Ondo State Government has again reiterated its commitment to the sustenance of the enduring peace in the state by supporting all security agencies to perform their core duties of securing lives and property of citizens optimally.
The State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa gave the assurance while playing host to the Deputy Inspector General of Police representing Southwest Nigeria, Mr Abiodun Alabi in his office in Akure.
Governor Aiyedatiwa who was represented by his Deputy, Dr Olayide Adelami, mni, appreciated the officers and men of the Nigerian Police for their salutary roles in fighting crimes and criminalities across the country with assurance that his administration will continue to prioritize the security of lives and property of all residents of the state.
Governor Aiyedatiwa was full of praises to the Nigeria Police Force for their synergy with other security agencies
particularly the Ondo State Security Network otherwise known as Amotekun at scaling down criminal activities in Ondo State.
Earlier, the Deputy Inspector General of Police accompanied by the Assistant Inspector General of Police Zone 17, Mr Abiodun Asabi and the Commissioner of Police Ondo State Command, Mr Abayomi Oladipo said he came to Ondo State to carry out the order of the Inspector General of Police to have first hand information on the operational performances of Zones, Commands and Divisions of the Nigerian Police in Southwestern part of the country.
While lauding the State Government for the sustenance of peace in the state, DIG Abiodun Alabi said the Inspector General of Police, Mr Kayode Egbetokun is resolutely committed to reposition the Nigeria Police in a bid to further tackle all forms of criminalities across the country.
DIG Alabi assured that the Police will continue to work in concert with relevant stakeholders and security agencies through intelligence gathering at curbing criminal activities.
