The lawmaker representing Akoko Northeast and Akoko Northwest federal constituency at the house of representatives, honourable Ife Ehindero has launched the 'Ibidero' delivery initiative, while also equipping basic health centers in the federal constituency.
At an event held in Oyin Akoko community of the constituency on Saturday, Ehindero of the All Progressives Congress (APC), also gave out bursary awards to indigent students to mark his 100 days in office.
Ehindero, who was elected in February to replace the former occupier of the seat after his appointment as the Minister of Interior by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, promised to do more before he clocks one year in office.
"Today marks a significant date in the history of our Federal constituency because we are making a 100 days in office since the people of the Federal constituency elected me as their representative. To the glory of God, I am here to begin the fulfillment of my promise of effective representation just like my predecessor did and we have been able to make some significant progress within 100 days.
"What we are doing here today is not just to present hospital equipments, cash and other incentives but to also appreciate our people for their support during and after the election. Our people have seen positive changes and they are confident that we will deliver on the mandate given to us. We will not be far from them and we will ensure they feel our impact always.
"I must not fail to appreciate my predecessor who has laid a strong template for the development of our constituency. I also appreciate the Speaker of the house, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abass for his support by giving us free access to his office to present our needs.
"Our people should expect the continuity of effective representation in the Federal constituency. We have a lot to do before we clock a year in office. We are planning to light up the constituency with solar street light to ensure security and safety of our people. This is just one of the many interventions our people should expect, we will give them a voice."
Stakeholders at the event expressed optimism at the performance of the young lawmaker and assured him of their support always.
The Commissioner of Environment to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Niyi Oseni commended Ehindero for not departing from the route of development established by the former occupier of the seat, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo. According to him, it is a thing of joy to know that the constituency is in safe hands.
One of the beneficiary of the pregnancy kit, Gbenga Mojisola appreciated the lawmaker for the initiative, noting that pregnant women now have a representative they can call their own.
The health officer in charge of one of the benefiting Basic Health Center, Olajide Veronica said "We appreciate Hon Ife Ehindero for what he is doing currently because one year ago when our father, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo was there, he did a similar thing by equipping our health centers. This can only mean that the current occupier is taking off where BTO stopped and this is beautiful."
