Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has described the late Dr Paul Akintelure as a man of integrity and profound impact.

Attending the funeral mass of the deceased, who was also a former 2024 APC gubernatorial aspirant, on Friday, at the St Pius Catholic Church in Igbotako, Okitipupa local government area, Aiyedatiwa emphasized the ceremony was a celebration of Akintelure's remarkable life rather than a time for mourning.

Acknowledging the loss felt by all, Aiyedatiwa highlighted that Akintelure's departure was deemed a gain in God's eyes, echoing the sentiment that what is precious to God may bring pain to mankind.

He lauded Akintelure's exceptional contributions to Igbotako, stressing his roles as a medical doctor, a community leader, and a committed political figure, whose impact extended beyond measure.

The governor said "We gather here to honor and celebrate the life of Akintelure, a cherished son of Igbotako. While his passing brings us sorrow, we find solace in knowing that he is now in God's embrace, as the scriptures remind us that what is precious in His eyes may cause us pain. Akintelure lived a commendable life, leaving a lasting impact on many through his roles as a medical doctor, a community leader, and a dedicated political figure"

"His commitment to saving lives and serving humanity is evident in the countless individuals he has touched. As a fellow member of the same political party, I extend my heartfelt condolences. Though we wish he could have remained with us, we trust in God's plan. Let us continue to pray for strength, especially for the children he leaves behind, and may God grant comfort to his immediate family." He said.

In his sermon earlier, Rev. Fr. Clement Odia urged attendees to emulate Akintelure's legacy of compassion and generosity. He depicted Akintelure as a devoted family man and a selfless helper, advocating for the continuation of his noble principles and values by his offspring.

Representing the family, Dr. Akintade Akintelure expressed profound gratitude for the support received during the challenging period, while also soliciting prayers for the family's fortitude. Fondly remembering his father's unwavering integrity, Akintade emphasized Akintelure's steadfastness in upholding his principles throughout his life.

The service was attended by prominent dignitaries, including some APC Aspirants like Chief Olusola Oke and Prince Diran Iyantan, former NMA President Prof Dayo Faduyile, and the immediate past commissioner for education, Femi Agagu, among others.

Dr. Paul Akintelure passed away on March 26, 2024, at the age of 61, leaving behind a legacy of service, wife, and children.
