Dr Joe Okei-Odumakin, the widow of the late Afenifere Spokesman, Yinka Odumakin says she wished her husband could hear what those he criticised were saying about him.
Yinka Odumakin died at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH on Saturday, from COVID-19 complications.
Tributes have continued to pour in torrent for the deceased from those he criticised, when he was alive.
The late Odumakin's vocal stance and criticism of bad governance and people in power, made him a hero while alive.
Many Nigerians, including President Muhammadu Buhari have eulogised the deceased rights activist, for his doggedness and consistency.
His wife, Joe said she wished her husband could hear what those he criticised were saying about him.
"It would have been soothing, if Yinka was around to see this. At times, we need to celebrate people when they are around; even if they will critique what we have to say and refer to what they had written and said about us. People are following the trend of events and they will be the best judge", she stated.
According to Joe, her husband was recovering from COVID-19 complications before he died.
She said her husband was told by a physiotherapist that his oxygen level had dropped.
She explained further that, "After the doctor attended to him, it was discovered that he had COVID-19 and was transferred to the Isolation Centre at the LASUTH, Ikeja.
"The next day, his oxygen level dropped a bit more and we had to move to the Mainland General Hospital, Yaba. He was put on a ventilator at the hospital. After a few days, he tested negative".
