PRESS BRIEFING/PARADE OF SUSPECTS
BY CP SALAMI AMIDU BOLAJI
THE COMMISSIONER OF POLICE
ONDO STATE POLICE COMMAND
IGBATORO ROAD, AKURE.
MARCH 29,2021
Ladies and Gentlemen of the Media,
It is my pleasure to once again welcome you to Ondo State Police Command. When I took over as the Commissioner of Police in charge this Sunshine State, I made it clear that I was not here for speech-making, but to ensure that the good people of Ondo State enjoy the benefit of quality policing, and though I have not totally achieved my desire as I hope to, I do think that the Command under my supervision is leaving nothing to chance but to see that the people of this State go about their daily activities with less stress, intimidation and harassment from criminals.
Looking at our records of activities within the period under review,Ondo State Police Command,to my mind has performed much better compared to what is happening in some other States across the country. Within this same period too, we have been able to reduce the spate of kidnapping and banditry that seem the hallmark of some States.
I can as well tell you that perpetrators of armed robbery and some other heinous crimes that made their way into the State are regretting taking such futile and near-deadly adventure, for the spread of my policemen and our synergy with relevant security agencies in the State have reduced them and their ambitions to nothingness.
Once again, I welcome you to another session of our parade of suspected criminals in our custody.
Few days ago, we paraded twenty young Nigerians who have for sometimes now made the Owo axis of the State a theatre of absurdity by their killing and counter-killing of one another in the name of cultism. And I have made it clear to all our youths in the State to stay away from such inhuman practices that tend to reduce their populations, or those caught will face the wrath of the law, as I will not watch them demonstrating death by violence, no matter what name they call it.
