The Ondo State Government has faulted the figure released for the state in its daily update by the Nigeria Centre For Disease Control, NCDC.
NCDC in the update said Ondo recorded ninety cases whereas Lagos which had always been the epicentre had only twenty two cases, the lowest in recent time.
But the government said an impression created by the NCDC that the state is now the most sevezely affected state in the country is far from the truth.
It added that the true picture is that the figure recently released for the state is a cumulative of several days due to delay in getting results from the testing Laboratories.
According to a statement issued by the state acting commissioner for health, Jibayo Adeyeye, the data indicates that the state is certainly not the most infected in the country.
The statement added,"The attention of the Ondo State Government has been drawn to the concern of the public about the apparent sharp increase in the number of new COVID-I9 cases in the state.
" This had created an impression that the state is now the most sevezely affected state in the country. This is far from the truth.
The true picture is that the figure recently released for the state is a cumulative of mean of several days due to delay in getting results from the testing Laboratories".
