A faceoff has occurred between a cassava farmer and herdsmen who used their cows to destroy large expanse of cassava farms located at Owobamigbe Farm settlement, along Ileyo Isagba Road, Akure, Ondo state.
This has created Palpable tension in parts of Akure.
It was gathered that trouble started when the son of the farmer met some herders at the farm uprooting cassava to feed their cows.
He was macheted in an to stop the ugly act made by the herdsmen.
The herders inflicted various degrees of injuries on him before he was rescued from the scene by other farmers.
One of the farmers, Mr Michael Abiodun, said villagers had started leaving the area for the fear of further attacks by the herdsmen.
Abiodun said they are not going to sleep in their Hamlets for now because anytime they have issues with Fulani herdsmen, they would always come back at night to attack them.
