Herders have started leaving Ondo state forest reserves in obedience to the order of the state government.
Also, the registration of herdsmen in the state has commenced by the government.
This was disclosed by the Special Adviser to the state Governor on Security, Alhaji Jimoh Dojumo, in Akure, the state capital.
Dojumo said his office, the state Ministry of Agriculture and the office of Amotekun Corps had on Monday commenced the registration of the herdsmen.
The Special Adviser said the herdsmen had started leaving the forest reserves in deference to Akeredolu's order.
The governor had on Monday last week ordered herdsmen out of the state forest reserves within seven days with the aim of flushing out those who were not registered among them.
The quit notice was part of the measures to address the growing insecurity in the state.
The Nigeria Governors Forum on Monday had a meeting with the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria to discuss the quit notice which raised a lot of dust all over the country.
