There are indications that some market women who were kidnapped along Akure/Owo road are still in the captive of their captors.

This is contrary to the claim made by the Nigeria police that the Iyaloja of Isua in Akoko south east local government area of the state, Chief Mrs Hellen Edward has been released.

The spokesman of the state police command, Tee-Leo Ikoro had declared that it rescued some of the abducted travellers.

However,  the family of the victims described the police claim as untrue.

The daughter of the kidnapped Iyaloja, Mrs Alaba Edward, one of the children of the abducted said she spoke with her mother in captivity.

She said her mother appealed to them to look for money to pay ransom for her release in the hands of her abductors.

Alaba said that the 11million naira earlier demanded had been reduced to 5million which the poor family couldn't afford to pay.
