Campaign organisation raises alarm over threat to Jegede’s life

The Eyitayo Campaign Organisation has raised the alarm over threat to the life of the  Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Eyitayo Jegede for daring to challenge the outcome of the October 10 Election at the tribunal.

The organisation said information at its disposal showed that there is security threat to the Candidate of the PDP  in relation to the petition which he lodged against the APC at the Election Tribunal.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Media Aide to Eyitayo Jegede, Gbenga Akinmoyo.

The organisation added that it discovered through an impeccable source  that  meetings were being held at very high quarters by those who feel threatened by the step taken by the Jegede.

It therefore notified  security agencies of this threat and/or likely breach of security around Jegede.

The statement reads, "Webelieve the security agencies will rise up to the occasion and take the threat seriously"

Jegede came second in the last Governorship election behind the incumbent Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu.

Dissatisfied with the outcome of the election, the PDP candidate approached the election petition tribunal . 

He is challenging the result released by the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) on four grounds.
