Police arrest suspected killers of Akure PoS operator

Anti-Crack detectives of the Ondo State Police Command have arrested three suspected killers of a 22-year-old lady identified as Adetutu Ibrahim, a POS operator, who was murdered in cold blood in Akure few months ago.
A competent police officer in the command, who gave the hint to The Hope Metro, said the suspects were apprehended in Minna, Niger State, six months after Adetutu was killed by the hoodlums.
Reports had it that one of the suspects whose identities were yet to be revealed were nabbed after men of the Special Anti-Kidnapping Squad (SAKS) tracked his mobile phone number which led them to a hideout in Niger State where they apprehended him.
The Hope Metro had reported that a gang of armed robbers, shot dead a Point of Sales operator at the Oke Ogba area, off Agagu Road in Akure.
The incident came less than 24 hours after a middle-aged worker of a publishing company was shot dead during a robbery operation at the Ajipowo area/Ogundipe Estate of Akure.
The late PoS operator, Adetutu, was said to have been shot by one of the men, who went to her shop on a motorcycle and pretended to be there for a business transaction.
An eyewitness narrated that the deceased, who was said to have been operating in the area for some months, met her untimely death when the robbers shot her and collected an undisclosed amount of money from her.
He said the gunmen had earlier monitored the movement of the lady and waited till 7.30pm before attacking her.
The eyewitness said, "The woman and her sales girl were in the shop when the bandits came on a motorcycle and pretended to want to do business with her. As they were trying to forcefully collect money from her, she attempted to run out of the shop. So, one them shot her and collected an unknown amount of money from her.
"When other shop owners and residents of the area heard the gunshot, they ran for safety. This gave the hoodlums the opportunity to escape from the area."
It was gathered that when the gunmen demanded from the lady the day's proceeds, she struggled with them and later took to her heels after which they had overpowered her.
As she took to her heels, the source said one of the armed men opened fire on her and shot her at a close range.
She was later rushed to an undisclosed hospital in a state of coma.
