Assembly assures on rehabilitation of Iwaro, Ayegunle/Oke Oka road in Ondo

Ondo state House of Assembly has assured the people of Akoko South West of prompt rehabilitation of Iwaro, Ayegunle/Oke Oka road axis by the state government in no distant time.
The chairman, House Committee on Works and Infrastructure, Dr Adeyemi Olayemi alongside other members who paid an on the spot assessment to the road reiterated the assembly's commitment to fast track the process of making the road passable.
He affirmed that the governor is passionate about the plight of people ,especially when it has to do with lives and properties.
" I can assure you that in no distant time, the road would be fixed, the present government does not take the issue concerning people with levity," he stressed.
Also, the vice Chairman of the committee, Akogun Omole who is from the constituency explained that residence of the area have relocated from the area due to incessant accidents on the road.
According to him, the road is the only road people of the south west region pass to Abuja,while heavy trucks ply it on daily basis. "When the brake of the trucks failed at the portion at Oke-Maria, they descends to this place which caused a lot of havoc. A lot of people have died in the process, even while staying in their houses.
As a representative of my people, I raised it at plenary and Mr Speaker approved that the committee should inspect the road, though we are aware that NDDC wants to take steps on the road, but we have not seen anything yet after this inspection, we are going to write report and memos in that regard."
At the Olubaka's palace, Oba Adebori Adeleye thanked the committee for the visit, noting that the road is a major road which makes it so important.
He commended the present government for its interventions on roads in the state.
