Rt Rev. Dr. Simeon BorokiniThe Akure Anglican Diocese under the leadership of Rt Rev. Dr. & Mrs. Simeon Borokini, presented 2,000 face masks produced by the Diocese to the Ondo State Government.
The face masks were produced by the Diocese to complement the State Government's efforts in providing face masks for the citizens and in order to ensure every member of the Church has a face mask to wear during Services since it is one of the precautions against contacting the deadly Coronavirus pandemic.

The Rt Rev. Dr. Simeon Borokini while presenting the face masks to the Governor appreciated him for his consistent efforts in ensuring the State is Covid-19 free despite the fast rising numbers recorded in the Country daily. He explained that the face masks were produced in compliance with every laid down directives by the Government and with the urge to support the State Government's efforts. The Diocese embarked on the production of 8,000 face masks of which 2000 were presented to the State Government.

The Bishop expressed delight over the ease of lockdown on religious activities in the State since the Government has given approval for Church activities to hold on Sundays. He noted that the remaining 6,000 face masks will be distributed to every Church member free of charge, adding that evey guideline issued for Service will be strictly obeyed and the Diocese has set up its own Task Force towards this end.
While receiving the face masks, the Governor, Arakunrin Odunayo Akeredolu commended the initiative of the Diocese and their collective efforts in supporting the State towards the fight of Covid-19 in the State. The Governor explained the need for everybody to take precautions as the virus may not leave anytime soon. He assured the Diocese that the face masks will be judiciously used by the State and ensure it serves the purpose of production.
