In celebrating the Easter season, a hopeful for the Akure constituency 1 seat in the Ondo State House of Assembly, Toluwanimi Borokini has extended a hand of fellowship to members of the Ago Ìrètí community in Akure.
Borokini who came with some members of his support group enjoined members of the community to continously put their faith in God in a moment like this.
Going down memory lane, Borokini who is the son of the Anglican Bishop of Akure Diocese traced how through his father's influence, he came in contact with fellowshiping with the Ago Ìrètí community.
He also used the occasion to ask that they give their prayers and support to the government of the day in Ondo state led by Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu saying that is the only way we can get the development we so desire.
"Since 1990, when my father who was then the Archbishop Vining College of Theology, Akure led Anglican priests to fellowship here, I have always been part of you." said Toluwani Borokini
"Year in year out, I have together with various groups come to be with you and share gift items with you," he said.
The house of assembly hopeful also asked for the support of members of the community in his future pursuits.
Speaking on behalf of the community, The secretary, Mr. Tunji Oluwatimilehin appreciated Toluwani Borokini, his family members and all his friends for coming to fellowship with them.
Mr. Tunji added that they can not forget Bishop Borokini for all his good deeds in his place. All your aspirations will be met, he prayed.
He also spoke on some of the challenges facing the Ago Ìrètí community which needs urgent attention by the government.
"We have some challenges and we have written to the governor.
"We have some retirees here, and they don't get their pensions as at when due. We need the help of the government on this."
He also mentioned that some of the workers of Ago Ireti have also retired. For effective management of this place they need the government to employ the 5 people.
"We have forwarded their names. Our driver has retired for the past 3 years. We also need a security man, we know how we fund our driver. Our former driver who was driving us has retired and we need a new one," he said.
Gift items were donated to the community on behalf of the Simeon Toluwani Borokini support group.
