We ’ll pay bursary, scholarship, Ondo Govt. assures

Ondo State Government has dispelled the rumour going round that it would not pay scholarship and bursary to its indigenous students studying in higher institutions.
The State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr. Yemi Olowolabi while featuring on a live Radio Programme in Akure, the Ondo State Capital noted that the previous government had stopped payment of scholarship and bursary to students of the state since 2012.
Olowolabi said the state government would pay the bursary because there is provision for the purpose in the 2018 budget, adding that the process of awarding scholarship and bursary would soon be announced.
He added that Ondo State Government has earmarked about N15 billion in the 2018 budget for the rehabilitation and construction of roads in the State, towards making them motorable and free of potholes.
The Commissioner disclosed that the people of the state are happy with the achievements of the Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu- led administration in the past one year in the state, adding that work had commenced on Ijoka-Idanre road, after the flag- off of the project during the first anniversary of the present government in the state.
He added that contractors are on site at the 4.1 kilometers Ikare township road dualisation, while work is ongoing on various roads flagged off by the Governor during the first year anniversary.
He noted that work was slow in the  A Division to Oke Obere dualisation in Akure because lots of property would give way for the project and compensation would be paid to the affected property owners.
Olowolabi stressed that there is no local government in the state that the state government has not touched with developmental projects in the last one year, noting that Governor Akeredolu is not an accidental leader, but he is prepared and focused on the task of serving the state by bringing development to the door steps of the people.
"This government is focused, committed and plans effectively any action to be taken in moving the state forward. Whatever developmental projects that would be taken by the government in the next four years would be in accordance with the blueprint of the government which serves as a working guide for the government," he stated.
The spokesman of the state government added that the people of the state made a right choice by voting for Oluwarotimi Akeredolu,SAN, in the 2016 governorship election in the state.
