The Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) in the Southwest, Olorogun Eddy Olafeso, has expressed optimism that the party will win the forthcoming gubernatorial elections in Ekiti and Osun states.
Olafeso who spoke with The Hope in Akure on Sunday stated that the past achievements of PDP in both states would endear the people to have trust in the party to take them to the promised land.
He also believed that the shortcomings of the Aregbesola's government in Osun in the last eight years coupled with maladministration of Ogbeni would make the people of Osun state to return PDP to power in the coming governorship election.
The former Commissioner for Information in Ekiti state said governor Ayodele Fayose has performed exceedingly well in the state and has endeared himself to the commoners
He assured that Chu's transformation agenda for the people of the state in the last 4 years would make Ekiti people to vote for PDP again.
According to him, the party has put its house in order, prepared for the two elections and set to win the elections in a fair and credible way.
Olorogun Eddy Olafeso posited that PDP remains the only national party in Nigeria, urging the people of Osun and Ekiti states to give the party another chance to rule.
He added that the 16 years of the party cannot be wished away in Nigeria, stressing that the present security challenge, unemployment and other Sunday issues affecting the country could only be famed by PDP.
He said, "We have put our house in order in PDP. It is the only party with internal democracy.
" The only national and our leaders today are speaking with one voice. We are ready to challenge every political position in Nigeria, and playing by the roles, ready to win the country back from the present APC led government ".
"The reconciliation committee of our great party is working round the clock to bring the aggrieved people back to the fold.
"Peace is a process and all those who have gone have been assured of a level playing ground for all aspirants.
" Our leaders must be alive to come together. And this they have been doing. PDP will be great again and Nigerians have known now that their destinies lie with PDP".
Olorogun Eddy Olafeso said that the main focus of PDP in Nigeria is the people, for they are much better under the party, urging Nigerians to keep faith with the party in both Osun and Ekiti, including the next year coming 2019 elections.
