The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) is pushing a bill at the National Assembly that will enhance the profession of journalism in the country.
The National President of NUJ, Waheed Odusile made the call at the inauguration ceremony of the newly elected executives in Ondo State.
Odusile who was represented by the Vice President of NUJ, South West, Cosmos Oni, said the bill would also ensure that all journalists benefit from the minimum wage allowance in the country.
The re-elected chairman of the state NUJ, James Sowole urged media proprietors to stop the habit of not paying journalists their wages and salaries.
He promised to reconcile all aggrieved parties among the union in the state.
The re-elected executives are Adetona Aderoboye as Vice chairman, Leke Adegbite as Secretary, and Adeola Adekunle as Financial secretary.
