The Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools (ASUSS), Ondo State, says the 'alarming' level of insufficient teachers in secondary schools in the state might lead a collapse of the sector.

The state chairman of ASUSS, Mr. Dayo Adebiyi, who expressed the fears during the 2017 World Teachers Day, celebration for secondary school teachers in Akure, said the education sector in the state needed much attention of the government.

Adebiyi appealed to the present administration in the state to find solution to the problem of insufficient teachers in secondary schools.

He emphasized that the security of lives of teachers and students should also be important to the government.

Adebiyi however advised his members to rise to the challenge of tackling the 'terrible vermin'  of indolence and examination malpractice threatening to destroy education in the state.
