Immediate past governor of Ondo state, Dr Olusegun Mimiko yesterday had a swell time after his aides, political associates, family members and friends celebrated him on his 63rd birthday.
The impromptu birthday bash was organised for Mimiko by some of his aides while office and followers at his Ondo residence just about when he was heading out of his gate to Lagos for an assignment.
The aides who sang many birthday songs for Mimiko popularly known as Iroko also reminisced on how their relationship with him had turned around their lives.
Some of his aides at the birthday bash include the erstwhile Chief Press Secretary, Eni Akinsola, Hon Taiye Afilaka, Taoheed Ajao, Remigius Akinbinu, Hon Andrew, Hameed Leyimu, Kike Isijola and John Paul Akinduro.
While some of his aides took to the radio and newspaper to celebrate him and his achievements in office with congratulatory adverts, others coordinated by Akinduro, his former Digital Media aide led a #happybirthdayiroko campaign on new media.
In his response, Mimiko who expressed surprise on the impromptu event, thanked them for celebrating him and promised to remain an exemplary leader.
