The Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has spoken of the plans of his administration to reconstruct the Igbara-Oke/Ibuji road which links Ondo State with Ekiti State.
Speaking with Government House Reporters shortly after an inspection tour of the road, Governor Akeredolu said in view of the fact that the road had become practically impassable, the Ondo State Government has decided to reconstruct it.
The governor who said the State Government could no longer watch its citizens plying the road suffer by putting their lives in danger added that before the commencement of the reconstruction, the Federal Government would be adequately informed so that reimbursement would be seamless.
Investigations had shown that in view of the bad state of the road, motorists ply the road in deep fear because criminals regularly strike on the terribly bad portions of the road.
