New SUG President pledges to end off-campus epileptic power supply in FUTA

The newly sworn in president of the Student Union Government of the Federal University of Technology Akure, Olaseyinde Williams, has assured the students that their welfare is of utmost priority on his agenda, adding that the epileptic and erratic power supply off-campus shall come to an end.

Williams, who spoke Friday at the swearing in ceremony of the newly elected Student Union Executives also remarked that his government will make conscious efforts to ensure that the outrageous and exorbitant amount paid by students residing off-campus will be reduced.

The new president promised that his administration will ensure transparency and accountability, adding that he will ensure that youth empowerment programmes are put in place for the students to develop their skills.

In his remark, the outgoing president, Segun Oladele stated the achievement of his government over the last academic session, laying emphasis on the fact that a lot of Social Intervention Programs were executed, with the help of other members of the executive.
