The factional leader of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi, other national leadership of the party and its state chapter chairmen have, Tuesday, declared support for Eyitayo Jegede, SAN as the true candidate for the party in the upcoming governorship election in the state.
In a statement signed by the party's National Publicity Secretary, Prince Dayo Adeyeye and made available to newsmen on Tuesday evening, the statement said party members were briefed of the happenings in Ondo state where, afterwards, the members unanimously declared support for Jegede.

"The Meeting between the Leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and states chairman just ended at the Temporary Secretariat of the Party in Wuse II, Abuja, and it deliberated on topical national issues."
"The Meeting which was convened at the instance of the National Chairman, H. E. Senator Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi, CON, with other members of the National Caretaker Committee, briefed the State Chairmen on the developments in the Party and some certain decisions of leadership. The Meeting also received reports from the State Chairmen on the state of affairs in their various states."
"The Meeting equally was optimistic that Justice shall surely be served and therefore, both teams reiterated full support for the Party's Candidate in the Saturday November 26, 2016 Gubernatorial Election in Ondo State, Hon. Eyitayo Jegede, SAN as the only Flag-bearer of the Party. Finally, we further call on all our members' nationwide, teeming supporters and the general public, and especially Ondo people, to remain calm and continue supporting the Leadership in moving the Party forward."
