The governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Dr. Olu Agunloye, on Wednesday said that his administration would not use and dump the youths of Ondo state if elected as governor in the forthcoming November 26 governorship poll.
Dr. Agunloye who made this promise while speaking with Nigerian Concord in Akure added that all the youths in Ondo state would be duly engaged.
Saying that an idle hand is the devil's workshop, the SDP candidate promised that his administration would ensure that no youth is left to be jobless or idle immediately he assumes duties as governor of the state.
His words: "We will not use and dump any youth in Ondo state because their participation is also very critical to any successful government in the country.
"We will not only do that, we shall also engage them. We shall empower them so that they won't turn out to be the tools that some selfish politicians will be using for thuggery and other social vices.
"I want to state it clearly now that our youths are very important. My administration shall make sure that they become very useful in the society"
Speaking further, Dr. Agunloye said any governor that doesn't carry youths along or have their interest in heart is not worthy to rule them.
"I was once a youth and I know the importance of our youths. I know that every youth must be carried along" he concluded.
