Wife of Ondo state Governor, Mrs Olukemi Mimiko, has charged female students in the state to engage in vocational studies while studying as this will ensure they are well-equipped for the future.

Mrs Mimiko made this admonition in Akure on Tuesday at this year's event to mark the International Women's Day with the theme "Pledge for Parity."

She encouraged the female students to brace up for the future and engage themselves in meaningful vocations. "If you know how to braid, do it very well, if you know how bake, do it very well, if you love to sow or crack jokes, do it very well. Make sure you get a vocational side to your upbringing, these are the tools you need to stand up tall in the future."

Mrs Mimiko added that the female-child has a major role to play in the society as she is the future mother

"It is how bold these young ladies are that will determine what will happen to us in the future, before we create parity we must first of all prepare ourselves, if we do not measure up in all things, we might not gain recognition." She said.

She however advised mothers to create equality between male children and the female folks as there's no limiting factor that can deter female children to achieve what the males are achieving.
