The National Publicity Secretary of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Olisa Metuh, who was granted bail today, January 19, earlier arrived the premises of the Abuja Federal High Court in handcuffs.

The PDP has alleged that the Prison officials were instructed by the Presidency to handcuffs the party's spokesman to court.

Quoting a Kuje Prison source, the party wrote on Twitter: "Presidency instructed us to put handcuffs on Olisa Metuh. We had no choice"

Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court in Abuja had granted Metuh  bail in the sum of N400 million, with other stringent bail conditions.

The PDP had disassociated itself from some of its indicted members including, Olisa Metuh and its Board of Trustees Chairman,Tony Anenih, noting that the alleged funds they received from the Office of the National Security Adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki was in personal capacity and not on behalf of the party.

The party's executives however asked Metuh and the Acting Chairman of the party's Board of Trustees, Alhaji Haliru Bello, to resign.
