The governorship ambition of the Senator representing Ondo North Senatorial District on the platform of All Progressives Congress, Prof. Ajayi Boroffice, has received a major boost with the Ondo South Consultative Forum (OSCF) endorsing his aspiration to emerge as the party's flag-bearer in the 2016 Ondo governorship election.
Addressing reporters, in Akure, the Ondo State capital yesterday, Chairman of OSCF, Mr. Thomas Akinyomi said: "After extensive and thorough consultation with party leaders and delegates in the six local government areas of Ondo South Senatorial District, we by this means publicly announce our support for the governorship aspiration of Senator Ajayi Boroffice".
The group noted: "The recent announcement by the Ondo State Government of its plan to float Ondo State Development Plan (ODSDEP) has vindicated the position of Senator Ajayi Boroffice that the Mimiko-led administration has fired on for 7 years without well-conceived plans and its programmes have not yielded desirable results. To this extent, we are pleased that the government shunned political considerations and took the advice of Senator Boroffice in good faith.
"Therefore, this further challenges us as a people to always support leaders with foresight and developmental agenda. We are convinced that Senator Boroffice possesses the experience and wherewithal to govern Ondo State so that her prosperity would be shared for the benefits of the citizenry.
"The APC has the brightest chance to win the governorship election in Ondo State but it would not happen by either miracle or by magic. The party can only win by presenting its best candidate. Considering the integrity and popularity test, Boroffice is the only candidate that can defeat the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), to secure victory for the APC in Ondo State.
"The people of Ondo South particularly party leaders and delegates having realised this political reality, are queuing up behind Senator Boroffice to emerge the governorship candidate. We urge party leaders and delegates from other zones to unite and support him in the interest of Ondo State".
