Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State announced a cash reward of half a million naira to each member of the victorious Women Federation Cup 2015
winning Sunshine Queens FC on Monday evening.
Sunshine Queens defeated Bayelsa Queens to win the 2015 Federation Cup title -their first ever major domestic trophy since 39 years ago.
Mimiko, who disclosed this at a special state dinner held in honour of the team at the Banquet Hall of the government house in Akure also appreciated them for making the state proud
All officials and 30 players of the team benefited from the cash gifts at the colourful ceremony.
In his remarks, the sports loving governor, praised the team's dedication, discipline and determination to have won the first national title for state since its creation under his administration.
He assured that his government will sustain its support in terms of funding and motivation to the team to attain its full potentials.
