No Super Eagles players among BBC African Player of the Year nominees

There is no Nigeria player among the five-man shortlist, for the BBC African Player of the Year.

Yaya Toure, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Andre Ayew, Sadio Mane and Yacine Brahimi are the names that made the cut.

Brahimi is the current holder of the award and this year's winner will be named by football fans, who have until November 30 to vote. Voting is done via SMS and online.

The winner will be announced December 11.
