Buhari sacks EFCC Chairman, Ibrahim Lamorde

Ibrahim Magu, a top level official of the Economic and Governance Unit of the EFCC, has been chosen to replace the sacked Chairman.
   
President Muhammadu Buhari has sacked the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Lamorde.

Lamorde was sacked today, November 9, 2015, according to a source in the Presidency who spoke to Channels Television.

According to Sahara Reporters, Ibrahim Magu, a top level official of the Economic and Governance Unit of the EFCC, has been chosen to replace the sacked Chairman.

No reason has been given for Lamorde's sack.

The EFCC Chairman has however been facing a probe by the Senate following allegations that he laundered N1 trillion in funds which were recovered from corrupt persons by the agency.
