Friends of former Oyo State Governor, Adebayo Alao-Akala, stormed the state Peoples Democratic Party secretariat in Ibadan on Friday to pay the N3m fee for the expression of interest form for him to contest next year's governorship election in the state.
Former Deputy Chief of Staff in the state, Rasaq Gbadegesin, led the committee members who were received by the party's the Financial Secretary, Mrs Kehinde Eboda and Publicity Secretary of the party, Kehinde Salawu.
Other members of the committee were former Commissioner for Trade and Commerce in the state, Dr. Kola Balogun, Mrs Kemi Jayeoba-Olorunsogo, Laide Busari and Tunde Olayiwola among others.
Gbadegesin urged the party to provide a level-playing ground for all aspirants of the party, saying that the former governor had a bright chance to win at the primary.
He said, "We are here to comply with the directive of our political party that anybody that aspires for governorship seat must obtain expression- of- interest form. This is what we have come to do on behalf Alao-Akala.
"What the party executive is saying is that there is going to be level playing ground for all aspirants. If this is followed, we are ready and we are not afraid to face the primary."
