Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has expressed sadness on the death of Thisday correspondent in the state, Alhaji Toba Suleiman.

Fayemi in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Olayinka Oyebode, described the death of Suleiman as "very shocking, unbelievable and demoralising".

He described Suleiman as a courageous, resourceful, objective and hard working journalist who contributed immensely to the media profession.

According to him, Suleiman brought his over twenty year experience in journalism to bear in covering critical issues in the Ekiti polity in the last eight years of practice in the Land of Honour.

Fayemi said he enjoyed a good working relationship with the deceased whom he said struck a balance in covering both the government in power and the opposition.

He said Suleiman's experience, counsel and suggestions on the development of Ekiti would be sorely missed.

He prayed God to grant the family, friends and colleagues of the deceased especially the state NUJ, the Correspondent Chapel and Thisday Newspapers the fortitude to bear the loss.
