Team Nigeria added two more golds to their kitty on Wednesday with the victories of Odunayo Adekuoroye in the women's 53kg wrestling final and Aminat Adeniyi in the 58kg class.

Adekuoroye defeated India 's Lalita Lalita by fall, while Adeniyi won 4-0 against India 's Sakshi Malik.

Adekuoroye, a gold medallist at the 2014 African Junior Championship in Cairo , Egypt , was a first round loser in her debut at Delhi 2010 where she lost to Olympic champion Canada 's Carol Huynh.

Wrestling brought in another bronze medal same day through Amas Daniel who defeated England 's Sasha Madyarchyk to share the podium with Scotland 's Viorel Etko.

Nigeria still has the chance of getting a medal in the women's long jump following Ese Brume's narrow qualification in the preliminaries on Wednesday.

Brume finished fifth in her group with a jump of 6.29 metres, which initially appeared not too good for the final. But in the overall classification, she ended up as 12th, the last on the list for the final which holds today.

Bianca Stuart of the Bahamas topped the list with a jump of 6.67 metres.

Christian Amaechi Cuevas-Morton also grabbed a ticket for the men's 400m hurdles final.

The 24-year old Nigeria champion had finished third in Heat 1 but he turned out to be fifth in the overall ranking with his 49.62 seconds performance.

Efetobor Apochi brightened Nigeria 's medal chances in boxing when he outpunched Australia 's Jai Opetaia in the 91kg class quarterfinals to move into medals range.

Nigeria's former sprint champion, Obinna Metu, failed to advance to the semi-finals of men's 200 metres on Wednesday after finishing fourth in Heat 10 in 21.19 seconds.

His compatriot, Adeseye Ogunlewe, also finished fourth in Heat 2 with a personal best of 21.11 seconds, but it was not good enough to qualify him for the semi-finals.

Both athletes will have a second chance at the Games when they feature in the men's 4x100m relay.
